Career is a sequence of positions associated with the work that occupied a person throughout his life. People pursuing a career to meet individual needs in depth.
Career planning, there are two different viewpoints. Planning a career can be centered on the organization, to individuals, or in both. Who focus on career planning organization, focusing on jobs and on building a career path that provides a place for the advancement of the people, among the various jobs that exist in organization. So the paths occupy a position or positions that exist within the company.

Four individual characteristics that affect how people make their careers include:
1. Interests: people usually believe pursue their careers match their interests.
2. Identity: Career is an extension of someone’s identity, as well as a matter of shaping identity.
3. Personality: This factor includes the employee’s personal orientation (example: whether the employees are realistic, fun, artistic) and individual needs (including affiliation, power, and need for achievement)
4. The social background: socioeconomic status and level of parental education and employment the employee is a few factors that fall into this category.
